lucerne
The Traveling Swiss Says: The Art Deco Hotel Montana is a boutique 4-star hotel perched above Lucerne, offering some of the best views of Lake Lucerne and the surrounding region. To reach the hotel, you'll take a dedicated funicular from the main street, leading you to its breathtaking hilltop location. The hotel features 62 Art Deco rooms and suites, varying in size and amenities to suit different budgets and preferences. As a self-proclaimed bathtub enthusiast, I was particularly impressed by this hotel’s deep soaker tub, which offers incredible relaxation with a window overlooking Lake Lucerne. The experience is enhanced with bath salts, exfoliants, and even a pillow to ensure complete comfort while unwinding. For dining, the Scala Restaurant offers a gourmet experience, awarded 15 Gault Millau points, with warm and charming hospitality. For lighter fare or a drink, you can visit the stylish Louis Bar, and for cocktail lovers, the Hemingway Rum Lounge is a must, as Ernest Hemingway himself once visited the hotel. And of course, in the summer months - you can’t miss Beach Club - their rooftop terrace with panoramic views.
